Whitehall's First Updated Mural at Jefferson Fresh Foods

After a summer of anticipation, information, and hard work by Kit Mather the old mural came down and the beautiful new mural went up last Thursday. If you haven't seen it please go to Jefferson Fresh Foods and see it. It is bright, beautiful, and clear.

It was a full day to remove the old mural and reinstall the new one. Thanks are due to many people first of all to Kit Mather who gave up her entire summer and worked every single day to make this vision come to fruition. Thanks also to the board and members of the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce who approved and wholeheartedly supported this project. Thanks to Bruce, Chad, and the entire crew at Jefferson Fresh Foods who gave their permission and were great to work with. There would not have been a mural without the kind gift of the Town of Whitehall and Mayor May Hensleigh who gave space for the mural to be painted and put together.

The mural would not have been replaced without local contractor Tim Geary and his crew, Blaine Myrstol, Jerry Downey, and Ron Hunt. Tim gave his time, equipment, and material and made those his gift to the mural replacement. Thanks also to Tony Scarborough and Full Circle Tire who, without question, gave protective blankets so the murals could be transported safely to their final home. Also, a big thanks to Kory Klapan at the Town of Whitehall who allowed us the use of candlestick barriers for traffic safety on the day of installation.

Of course, as previously noted, there are certain costs associated with a major project of this scope. Some things have been paid for but financial help is still needed to complete this project. The mural is up and you can see exactly what you are writing your check for. When you write your check, you can say," This is my mural'. When you write your check, please write it to JVCF and write "murals" in the memo. Checks can be mailed or left at the Whitehall Chamber or Whitehall Community Library. Thank you sincerely in advance.
