The news is out! Mountain West Automotive is no longer a CarQuest parts dealer!
No, there is no new owner - Mountain West Automotive will continue to be locally owned and operated by Jim Tingler, as it has been for the last 29 years, but has switched to Parts City to provide the community with better coverage and availability of parts, in most cases same-day delivery with an afternoon truck leaving Bozeman, Helena, and Butte as hub stores.
In addition to selling auto parts, Mountain West Automotive also offers battery testing, custom hydraulic hoses, starters, alternator testing, and wiper blade installation.
Why the change? CarQuest was nationally bought out by Advance Auto seven years ago. Some acquisitions work, and some don’t; in Mountain West Autos’ case, Advance Auto has gone in a different direction than what worked for the demography of this customer base.
After extensively researching O’Reilly’s core value of how they do business, with their extremely high-quality product lines, O’Reilly’s (Parts City) was determined to be the best fit for Whitehall’s customer base.
Mountain West Automotive will be flying under the Parts City flagship as of November 1, 2022. Mountain West is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM. Contact Mountain West Automotive at 406-287-3824. Visit http://www.partscityauto.com to look up parts and map to Mountain West Auto in Whitehall.
