Georgia, I have a question,
Are birth control pills tax deductible?
Planning Ahead
Dear Planning,
Only if they don’t work.

Georgia, I have a question,
I am a twenty-three-year-old liberated woman who has been on the pill for two years. It’s getting expensive and I think my boyfriend should share half the cost. The problem is, I don’t know him well enough to discuss money with him. What should I do?
Don't Know Him
Dear Know Him,
don’t know the man you’re sleeping with well enough to discuss money with him, you certainly do not know him well enough to potentially have a child with him. Get your head on straight and create a relationship of trust and security, so that these discussions aren’t hard to have.
With love,
Georgia
Georgia, I have a question,
Do my children really care if I go to their sporting events or not? My husband says they do, but I don’t think they’ll remember it in the long run.
Things came to a head this morning there is an invitational swim meet next Saturday that my son swam fast enough to qualify for. This meet is at a school three hours away, with no shade; you have to be there at 6 AM and literally just swelter for the better part of the morning. I just got my hair done and don’t want to ruin it for something as silly as a swim meet.
My husband says I need to be there. I don’t think it matters. In the long run, are my kids even going to remember these stupid little things I don’t go to?
Don’t Wanna Be Hot
Dear Don’t,
It sounds as if you not only don’t want to be hot, but you don’t want to be a mom either. Your children will remember the times you aren’t there more distinctly than the times you weren’t. Make it a point to be there as much as possible, hair be damned.
With love, Georgia
