Just Ask Georgia: 9/14/2022

Georgia, I have a question.

I’m Gen X and I have a huge problem with how I am left carrying the weight for Millenials.

For example, I’m 42 and my daughter is 22. She decided a while ago she does not want any kids. She’s actually getting a procedure for sterilization next year.

But those souls needing to come into our family for ancestral or karmic reasons still need to be born. So I’m stuck birthing and raising two babies who should have been born to her but can’t be because she’s too selfish to have kids.

We joke how my 1.5-year-old girl - her sibling - is actually hers but she just didn’t want to have her. But deep down? It’s not a joke. If she wasn’t so selfish I wouldn’t have a toddler daughter at 42.

Who is in the right here, I want to show her your reply so she wakes up and smells the coffee!

New-Mommy Forever

Dear Forever,

Well. Well. Weeeelllllll. Wow...

You do know YOU are responsible for you, and only you, as your child is now an adult. You also are NOT responsible for future souls and future generations of your family, as you also have already done your part - you have a daughter. I’d love to know what the ancestral or karmic reasons you mention are making you think differently.

A toddler at 42 is hard enough, especially when you’ve already raised a 22-year-old. You’ve brought one extra soul into the world, call it good and leave your daughter alone. Her choices are hers to make and hers alone.

Georgia, I have a question.

I’m pregnant and I want to choose my own due date. Is that possible? My doctor says the baby is due September 21, but I REALLY want a Halloween baby. Can I delay labor? What is the process to apply for such in a hospital? And what happens if I go into labor before Halloween? Will the doctors just force him to stay in there? Help!

Halloween Obsessed

Dear Obsessed,

Oh, darlin’ if you let that little one cook too long he’s going to look like something from Halloween! There is no way to FORCE a baby to stay in the womb, not an extra month at least! When a baby wants to be born, there’s no stopping labor!

Celebrate your child’s birthday parties on Halloween if you must, but let that baby OUT when it’s ready!

With love, Georgia
