Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
The September meeting of the Whitehall Town Council saw many standard reports and little controversy as the Town heads into the colder months.
Whitehall Public Works Director Kory Klapan said Town workers would begin blowing out sprinklers at the Rec Complex, then move to the parks and cemeteries in the upcoming weeks in preparation for winter. Klapan also noted that potholes would be filled within the next two weeks and if you notice one that may not be on his radar, please contact the Town so that it can be repaired.
Jefferson County Commissioner Leonard Wortman reported that the redistricting of Montana’s counties is in the process and that Jefferson County is currently looking at being divided into two, possibly three, House Districts. Public comment is currently being taken - contact your Commissioner for concerns and questions. Wortman said ten years ago when redistricting was done Jefferson County had the most comments in the state, which helped plead its case for not dividing the county too many ways.
