Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Whitehall's biggest weekend, the annual Frontier Days celebration, went off without a hitch this past weekend.
So many activities occurred throughout the town that it's hard to keep track of them all!
Here's a quick recap!
• M&M Vintage held its grand opening in the former Roper's building.
• The Kids Tractor Pull took place on Main Street under the direction of Mike and Kristy Price and Tanya Jorgenson. Thank you to the speedy welder who helped repair the tractor during the contest!
• The Bill Baycroft and Bob Casagrande Memorial Rod Run brought in dozens of classic cars. People's Choice award went to Jim Rentmeistor and his 1935 Ford truck.
• Todd Choquette ran the annual Mark Jordan Memorial Horseshoe Tournament in Legion Park. Wayne Worley won A Division, Will Bowen won B Division, and Wayne and Will teamed up and won the doubles bracket.
• The Jefferson Valley Fine Arts show displayed dozens of pieces from paintings to photographs in Borden's building.
• The Wyldman Rodeo was held at the Whitehall Rodeo Grounds with hundreds in attendance to see a true ranch rodeo.
• Aberdeen Alley performed the Friday night street dance on Main Street.
• The Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department fed hundreds at their Saturday morning pancake feed. They also had a dunk tank that helped cool off their volunteers during the weekend's steady heat.
• Over 60 vendors found their way to Whitehall for the largest vendor turnout in Frontier Days history.
• Whitehall's Wild West Parade was grand marshaled by the Jefferson Valley Search and Rescue squad.
• Expedition Church greatly assisted the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce in the running of not only the Chamber BBQ, but Frontier Days in general.
• Brent Harrison sang the National Anthem at the Wyldman Rodeo and performed on the Main Street Green stage Friday and Saturday.
• Darla Hill made and donated a beautiful quilt to the Whitehall Veterans, which was then raffled off. Winner was Kristian Richardson, formerly of Whitehall.
• The Class of 1972 held their 50th reunion. Graduates include familiar faces Mayor Mary Janacaro Hensleigh, Arlene Weber, and Larry Feight.
• The Jefferson Valley Museum toured the Cardwell Cemetery.
• Eric the Excellent performed at the Gold Junction Presents Talent Show during breaks from local talent.
• King Friday took on the Saturday street dance on Legion Avenue.
Honestly, there is just too much to mention that happened this weekend!
The Whitehall Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all who attended, as well as those who volunteered, sponsored, and assisted in any way. A HUGE thank you is necessary and the Chamber really can't thank everyone enough.
