Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
In the last few months, the Ledger office has been closed several times, more than ever since I purchased the paper. There are several reasons why, both professional and personal, and I thought I’d give everyone a little insight into my life.
In February, my husband and I both turned 40 within five days of one another. To celebrate we took a wonderful excursion to Las Vegas where we ate fabulous food, were awed by Absinthe and Cirque Du Soleil “O”, and enjoyed one another’s company.
In June, my best friend married her soul mate and I was honored to be her matron of honor.
In July, my annual girls' trip - a wonderful tradition within my friend group now ten years standing - to this year’s location, Swan Lake by Bigfork.
Several times out of every month the office is closed for Chamber meetings, Master Plan meetings, and the like, which need to be covered for the paper.
Frontier Days has brought many meetings, both in office and out, and we’re hoping for the best turnout ever in 2022.
This Friday the office will be closed for usual business while I head up Frontier Days; however, the Cardwell General Store will take over with a pop-up shop during this weekend’s festivities.
I’m learning to prioritize my life a bit more as I get more comfortable with owning a business as busy as the newspaper. Soon I’ll be developing the haunted house, my son will be entering his senior year, and I’d like to hang out with my parents a bit more.
What’s my point here? Yes, the office may be closed, but know that it isn’t for a good reason.
