It's Not Too Late to Exhibit Your Fine Art:
Jefferson Valley Fine Arts has announced it is not too late to exhibit your fine art and photography in their Frontier Days art exhibit in Whitehall being held July 22 and 23. Walk-in registrations will be welcomed on Thursday, July 21 from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Borden building conference room at the corner of Legion and Main Streets.
The art show will be held Friday and Saturday from 9 AM – 5 PM. The town will be full of festivities during those two days and it is a wonderful opportunity to introduce your talent to viewers from across the state.
Exhibition fee of $15.00 is required at sign-in, and no commission is charged on sales. Hope to see you there! For further information, contact Michele Franich at 406-490-6586.
4 Paws Holding Raffle, Drawing on July 23:
4 Paws Animal Rescue will hold a fundraising raffle in order to continue to care for the lost and stray animals they take in each day.
Raffle tickets are on sale now until the end of the day on July 23 at Frontier Days. Tickets are $5 each or a packet of 5 for $20 and are available by calling Misty at (406) 439-1405 and will also be available for purchase on the 23rd at the 4 Paws vendor booth in Legion Park.
The first prize was donated by a wonderful person in Waterloo, which is a new stable blanket, tooled leather bridle without a bit, single rein, and a rope halter.
Second prize is comprised of four brand new sheet sets - king, queen, double, and twin. This wonderful prize was donated by Decorator's Outlet in Butte.
Third prize is a $100 gift certificate to the Sacajawea Inn in Three Forks which was donated by Mountain View Real Estate in Whitehall.
Rod Run Accepting Entries for Annual Event:
There's still time to enter your classic vehicle into the Bill Baycroft and Bob Casagrande Memorial Rod Run, which will be held Saturday, July 23 during Frontier Days, in Legion Park.
Registration begins at 9 AM at the west end of Legion Park. If you would like to participate in Whitehall's Wild West Parade, a slot has been reserved within the parade lineup, which begins at 10:30 AM; the parade kicks off at 11 AM.
After the parade is the Show and Shine in the Park where participants will vote on the cars; a People's Choice award will be given to the favorite vehicle, as voted on by participants and spectators. Awards and prizes will be announced at 3 PM.
There is a $20 entry fee per car. Checks may be made out and mailed to Al Johnson, 99 Hwy 2 East, Whitehall, Montana 59759. If you have any questions, please contact Johnson at 406-490-0085.
Community BBQ Saturday at Noon:
The Whitehall Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual fundraising BBQ at the Golden Sunlight Pavilion immediately following Saturday's parade.
Proceeds from this event help the Chamber sustain events like Frontier Days, the Easter Egg Hunt, Fall Festival, Christmas Stroll, and more. Please come and show your support while enjoying a great meal!
The meal will include Split Diamond Ranch beef burgers, brats, macaroni and/or potato salad, and fruit for $5. Donations are much appreciated and will go directly into the event fund.
The Whitehall Chamber of Commerce would like to wholeheartedly thank Jefferson Fresh Foods, NorthWestern Energy, Split Diamond Ranch, Butte Auto, Expedition Church, and all other supporters and volunteers who made this BBQ possible. Without your support of the Chamber, this could not be done!
Register Now for the Lip Synch & Talent Show:
The Gold Junction Presents Talent Show and Lip Synch contest is looking for participants! Sign up today at the Chamber office, the Whitehall Ledger Office, or by emailing the Chamber at whitehallmtchamber@gmail.com. The show will be held Saturday, July 23 from 3-6 PM at the Main Street Green. A donation bucket will be passed around as this year's beneficiary is the Whitehall Drama Club.
Eric the Excellent, a professional magician, firebreather, and sword-swallower will open the show and perform throughout. The show will be hosted by local talent Tim Schober.
Museum Offering New Historic Tour:
Tickets for the Jefferson Valley Museum's summer historic tour of the South Boulder Cemetery on July 22 and July 23 are now available at the museum, noon to 4 PM; Monday hours may be shorter.
Tickets are $5.00 per person. An extra donation to help cover fuel costs for the bus is greatly appreciated. All money goes to Whitehall Public Transportation for the use of the bus. There is a limit of 10 per tour. On the 22nd, the tour will be offered three times: 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:30 PM. Only one tour will be offered on Saturday, July 23 at 2 PM.
Participants must be able to get on and off the bus and walk through the cemetery. Information given off of the bus will not be repeated on the bus. If highway construction does not interfere, we will also stop at the old Tebay cabin on the Salvagni ranch and then head down Tebay and McKeown lanes to Cardwell.
Whitehall's Wild West Parade Entries Due by 21st:
Parade registration forms are due by end of day Thursday, July 21st to the Whitehall Chamber office or email (whitehallmtchamber@gmail.com). Show us Whitehall's Wild West!
This year's Grand Marshalls, the Jefferson Valley Search and Rescue, will lead the parade down Legion Avenue, starting at D Street heading west, at 11 AM sharp on Saturday, July 23.
Please remember:
• No alcoholic beverages are allowed on parade entries.
• Please toss candy low to the ground on both sides of the street. All food goods tossed must be individually wrapped.
• Vehicles must be street legal and insured with liability as required by law.
• No political issue protests will be allowed on the route.
• The Whitehall Chamber of Commerce has the right to refuse any entry into the parade, should the entry not be in the spirit of the parade. Offensive or vulgar entries will not be allowed. Participants acknowledge the risk of participating in a parade, and assume that risk.
