Dear Jo,

What do you do when someone comments on the job you are doing while knowing nothing of the work and effort that goes into it? I do sales and there is always someone who feels the need to comment on my prices, my advertising, and how I handle the sale. It is never the person who does similar selling, but the person who knows nothing about your business and yet feels entitled to comment on how you run it. What is the best way to respond?

Tired and Frustrated

Dear Tired,

No matter what you do, whether good or bad, there will always be those that feel it is their business to comment. My suggestion? Go on about your own business and leave the nosy busybodies to do their thing. Perhaps they are in need of the attention they get from being the naysayer. Every community has them. We both know that breaking knee caps is no longer an option, those days are sadly gone.

Dear Jo,

What the H-E-double toothpicks are jeggings?! I know there are jeans and leggings. I asked my niece and she said it is the combination of the two. Really?! We needed to give people a reason to wear jeans that actually could show MORE?! There seems to be little left to the imagination as it is. I actually saw a young man with such tight pants that I was embarrassed. They were also above his ankles! Since when do men need to show their hairy ankles?! I am starting to feel a bit old-fashioned.
