Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Dear Jo,
Do you ever feel like you missed becoming something amazing? I sometimes feel like I knew when I was young what I wanted to do, at least what area of education I would love. Life and decisions changed that course. Sometimes I am filled with regret at what might have been. I love my life, but feel like I could have been and done so much more. How can I reconcile myself with what I can achieve with the time left?
Signed, Hopeful
Dear Hopeful,
There is no going back. Don’t just reconcile what you want to do with the time you have left! Embrace that time and make it count! You are inspiring me to be the country-western singer I have always thought I could be! Get out there and get ‘er done!
Signed, Jo
Dear Jo,
Do you compare yourself to others? I do. I find myself thinking a lot about what I see as the success of others.
I know people's lives are not always what they seem, but I always feel I can learn something from others.
Is this weird? Am I using up energy wondering about others instead of putting that energy into myself?
Signed, Admires Others
Dear Admires,
Go ahead, admire others and look for ideas that will benefit your life. Beware, though, of thinking of others' lives as somehow better. As my dad used to say, “they put on their pants one leg at a time, just like the rest of us.” He had a couple of others, but not really shareable! You get the point.
Signed, Jo
