At a meeting held March 6th in Whitehall, about a dozen Whitehall area residents met with county commissioners Leonard Wortman and Sam Samson to discuss the proposed county road ordinance. The meeting produced a fairly unified position among those in attendance that county roads should be better signed, that signs and enforcement should be prioritized based on risk and danger, that site-specific speed limits are better than a countywide 35 MPH limit, and that on many roads in the county many people currently drive too fast for road conditions.

Trojan Educator of the Week was a first-year Trojan varsity basketball coach, Jeff Kreis. Mrs. Kreis, who also serves as a physical education instructor, guided the Trojans to a 12-9 record and fourth place in the District 4B Conference. He returned to Whitehall after attending MSU and a stint as an assistant coach at Minot State.

Trojan Student of the Week was Chris Alley, a sophomore at the high school. He earned repeat honors as a student of the week. Chris was nominated by Mr. Kelly for efforts in world history class. Chris is the son of Jeff and Leslie Alley and enjoys hunting, basketball, and golf. He plans to attend college after he graduates.

Trojan Athlete of the Week was Melissa Lofftus, a standout on the Lady Trojan volleyball team. Melissa, a junior at the high school, had 31 kills at the 4B District Volleyball Tournament. She is the daughter of Vince and Quina Lofftus and plans to attend college next year after she graduates.
