Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks: 3/9/2022

All of my confirmations are in, and the March calendar is printed and on the front desk. Sometimes it takes a little longer for busy people to get back to me about dates and times for presentations. We have some great programs coming up so get ready to mark your datebooks!

Our hard-working 2nd and 3rd graders will be presenting a puppet show full of fairy tales and fun at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9th at the Library. They have been practicing their lines and finishing their puppets for this performance, so feel free to bring your little ones to watch!

If you are someone who works with tweens and teens, the Library is hosting an 8-hour workshop on "Teen Mental Health First Aid". This workshop is free and open to anyone who wants to learn the signs of teens in trouble and how to help them. This is a great opportunity for everyone to get this training and not have to travel to Helena. For more information, call the Library at 287-3763. The date is March 19th from 8-5 and lunch will be provided.

We have combined our Watercolor and Paint By Number classes to meet on Tuesday evenings at 5:45 p.m. The classes are open to any high school student or adult interested in exploring these interesting hobbies. All supplies are provided by the Library.

On March 29th at 6:00 p.m., the Library will be hosting "Hiking Safety with Children". Jefferson County Search and Rescue will be providing safety training for hikes as well as what to do if a child becomes separated from the adults they are with. The Library staff will be assisting children in making mini survival kits to carry along in their pockets. With the weather uncertain on any given day, this program is a great way to prevent tragedy on the trail.

The Garden Club will be sharing tips with everyone with "Blooming in Whitehall: How to Prep Your Yard and Garden" on Wednesday, March 30th at 1:00 p.m. This is a chance to ask the "experts" questions on planting times, problem soil, and more.

This Friday, March 11 is PBS Storytime with Deanna Mydland at 10:30 a.m. Little ones will have the chance to explore all types of science, stories, and more with our favorite PBS educator.

If you have questions about any of the programs, please contact us at 287-3763 or stop by the front desk.
