Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Dear Jo,
I hope this reaches you in time for this week’s paper because I need advice! It is cold, really cold. As a matter of fact, it is booger freezing weather. I hate it when it gets this cold. I always get that horrible frozen booger feeling in my nose and it seems like I am always around people when that happens.
How can you pick ‘em and flick ‘em when people are there?! I know, it sounds gross, but it is a serious booger issue when you have to try to find a way to get frozen, hair-pulling boogers out of your nose and try to be polite at the same time.
My question is this, is there a “polite” way to clear my painful nose in front of people?
Signed,
Frozen and Afraid
Dear Frozen,
Tissue perhaps, or maybe retreat to your home? If not, there is no way but to do the pick and flick when you are frozen and desperate. If you’re in company that finds that offensive, tell them to get over it.
Signed,
Jo
Dear Jo,
Have you ever felt that you are so far behind, there is just no catching up? What drives people to just keep going, to push even though rational thought and friends and family tell them to take a step back? How do you keep moving forward when you know you are in deep, maybe too deep, but your gut tells you to keep going. You feel strongly you are on the right track, but you also know feel that it is nearly impossible to keep it all going in the right direction. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Signed,
Too pooped
Dear Pooped,
Do you want to know how to eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Now if you’re chewing on the equivalent of three elephants, you might need to taper back a bit, listen to the people you trust to have your best interest in mind, and accept some help. BUT, never lose sight of your dreams, goals, or desires. You can do it.
Signed,
Jo
