Richard “Rich” A. Parks, age 84, of Whitehall, Montana passed away peacefully on February 17, 2022, with his loving wife by his side in their home in Whitehall.
Rich was born December 5, 1937; the only boy in a family of five children born to Eldwin and Tennie (Johnson) Parks.
He lived in Whitehall, Montana all of his life, only leaving to serve in the Air Force from 1955-1959. He graduated from Whitehall High School. Rich retired from the Golden Sunlight Mine.
Rich loved hunting with his buddies and family and told hunting stories that will live forever. Horses were a big part of his life; he was always up for a card game or cribbage, and his coffee group won’t be the same without him.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents Tennie and Eldwin Parks, daughter Marianne Traub, sisters Arlene Strozinsky and Afton Parks, and grandson Clayton French.
He is survived by his wife Diana, sisters Beverly Smith and Peggy Parks; children Greg Parks, Vicki DeWitt, Rick (Missy Pope) French, Dustin (Traci) French, and Brian (MiRanda Martinson) French. He also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Rich will live forever in our hearts. Until we meet again know we love you.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 12, at 11:00 AM at the K&L Mortuary Chapel at Whitehall with Rev. Bill Lanes officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Whitehall Cemetery.
