Harry Roy Hixson was born in Bozeman, Montana. Harry lived in Whitehall, Montana where he attended grades 1st through 12th, graduating in 1957. In his younger years, he was in 4-H, showing his cows and sheep in the fairs and winning many ribbons.
He attended two years at Northern Montana College in Havre and received a degree in drafting.
After college, he married Donna Jean Brisbin on July 4, 1959, in Three Forks, Montana. In October of '59, they said, "We're heading West," where they settled in Spokane. Harry worked for Kilmer Hardware for 1.5 years. In 1961 he started working for Eagle Electric and Plumbing/Pay N Pak as their purchasing agent; later as their warehouse manager.
After retiring in 1991, he enjoyed helping Donna at their stained-glass shop. He also enjoyed spending the winter months in Green Valley, Arizona. Harry always had something going on to keep him busy. He loved his garden and helping others here and in Arizona.
Preceding him in death were parents Ray and Lu Hixson. He leaves behind his wife, Donna, of 62 years; son Richard (Joanne) of Coeur D'Alene; daughter Marci Hixson Highley (Brad) of Spokane Valley; granddaughter Tara Hixson Czapla (Chris) of Post Falls; grandson Travis Hixson (Anna) of Coeur D'Alene; granddaughter Jessica Davis (Kenny) of Olympia; Anna Shawver (DJ) of Spokane; Matt Highley of Spokane; and twelve great-grandchildren, with another on the way.
Interment was held at Pines Cemetery in Spokane Valley, WA at 12:30 PM, on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
