Peter Glen Brennan, 82

Peter (Pete) Glen Brennan slipped quietly back to his Heavenly Father on the morning of Thursday, December 23, 2021.

Pete was born on January 30, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly after his birth, he and his mother, Helen Maxine Chinn, moved to Montana. They lived in various towns in Montana and also lived in California for a few years. Helen married Patrick Harold Conlin Brennan; he was Pete's step-father.

Pete attended and graduated from Whitehall High School. Pete was graciously invited by John and Peggy Jardine of Whitehall to live with them while he attended Whitehall High School. After graduation, he joined the Marine Corps Reserves and served as a reservist for eight years.

He attended Montana State College and Sacramento State College where he earned a bachelor's degree in English and Speech.

Pete worked as a customer engineering dispatcher for IBM in Sacramento, California for a few years. He taught Seminary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for several years in Sacramento and for a short time in Salt Lake City, Utah. He went to work for Union Pacific Railroad as a freight conductor in 1972 and worked there for 20 years.

Pete met Linda Lee Peck at the old Pipestone Hot Springs swimming pool. They were married three years later in Elk Grove, California on September 3, 1960, and after joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, they were sealed for time and eternity in the Los Angeles Temple.

After retiring from the railroad, Pete and Linda moved back to Whitehall where they have lived since 2003.

Pete and Linda were blessed with five sons and one daughter; David James Brennan of Middleton, Idaho, John Dean Brennan of Salt Lake City, Utah, Paul Eugene Brennan of Salt Lake City, Utah, Merridyann Brennan of Pocatello, Idaho, Michael Glenn Brennan of Butte, Montana and Patrick Jerry Brennan, who preceded Pete in death. Pete is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. These are the delight of his life. He loves them all so very much. He used to make up stories for his children about "Happiness Pancakes." They were always on the spur of the moment; he would tell them a story involving what he called "Happiness Pancakes." It was one way he expressed his love and the importance happiness plays in our lives. Pete was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Maxine Chinn Brennan, and his sister, Patricia Brennan.

Pete loved serving in many capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. He enjoyed reading, camping, hiking, backpacking, mountain climbing, swimming, weight lifting, and most anything that has to do with having fun outdoors, and family get-togethers.

He will be so missed by all who knew and loved him. When Pete told you he loved you, you knew he meant it. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law.

Pete, we will see you on the other side.
