Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
It's been a long time coming," Cara Sacry said with a smile. Sacry, along with Konnie Smith and several others have been working several years to bring the Whitehall Food Pantry into its own building. Previously located in a small space at the Trinity Methodist Church, the Whitehall Food Pantry now has a new building on Division Street, near the entrance to the Whitehall Rodeo Grounds. The building is due to a large donation by a Whitehall resident who has since passed.
The new building began construction in spring of this year and the December distribution at 2 PM on Tuesday, December 21st will be its official opening to the public.
The Whitehall Food Pantry, while having lived in a church most of its days, is non-denominational and not religion-based. The only requirement is that those who receive aid live in Jefferson county.
"We are here to help people, no matter where they are in their life journey, and bring them assistance," said Sacry. "There is no judgment here."
The Whitehall Food Pantry is open once a month for distribution. If you, or someone you know, is in need of assistance, please contact the Whitehall Food Pantry at 406-490-7394.
