Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
The Whitehall Community Library is very much in the news this month. If you would like to see the three different stories our friends at KXLF (CBS) have posted about our various programs and events, just go to their website at: https://www.kxlf.com/search?q=Whitehall+Community+Library to see interviews with local students, children and more.
The library will be closed on November 11th for Veterans Day and then on November 25th and 26th for Thanksgiving. We will be open regular hours during the rest of the month. Enjoy the holidays with your families and don't forget to stop by and pick up a movie or two to watch!
Mystery Book Club will meet on November 16th at 5:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring your favorite mysteries to share. We have had many new titles come into the Library lately so check out the new bookshelf to see who-done-it.
Sweet Tea Tales will be on November 18th at 6:00 p.m. This month's theme is Comics and Cheese. Enter your favorite cheese dish and bring a favorite comic or graphic novel to discuss. The contest is open to any budding chef and there are prizes for the winners.
Deanna Mydland will be here this Friday, November 12th for all sessions of our story times. She is bringing her
PBSKids bag of wonders so there will be lots of great centers and stories going on. Story time is 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. We will be having a special story time at 1:00 for the Whitehall School preschoolers.
Question of the week: Why do I sometimes have headphones on at my computer? The answer is that the Montana State Library requires 60 hours of training every four years for certification. With the Covid shutdown around the state, many of my training sessions are now online. Times are set up at the discretion of the trainer, so they often overlap with our programming calendar. So, to answer your question tiny human; no I do not get to listen to music at work or watch YouTube. I am doing my homework to keep up our certification :)
If you didn't have a chance to see the Reader's Theater performance last week, it was wonderful. The 2nd and 3rd graders worked so hard to learn their parts. They were very pleased to know we had an audience of over 60 patrons to cheer them on. Good job readers!
