Spooky Spectaculars for Your Haunted Season

Ready for a few more flicks to help get you in the haunted magical mood for Halloween? With this being the final installment of these frightful suggestions, the Editor of the Ledger has also chimed in, as she is well-known for her love of all things scary.

First off, Kristine's all-time favorite, the Halloweentown franchise. The Halloweentown series of four films is the ultimate watch for any witch lover. This Disney creation started as a series, which gained momentum and became a series of films. We follow a young girl named Marnie Piper as she, her brother Dylan, and her sister Sophie go on a grand adventure into another world to find their magical grandmother. They grow throughout the series, and we learn all about Halloweentown, its colorful residents, and the spellbinding magic. With magic flying around everywhere and Halloween in the title, what more could you ask for from the perfect series leading up to such a frightfully fun day.

The Haunting of Hill House is a series of ten episodes, available on Netflix, which will make you reexamine your daily interactions with those you love. While the Editor is all about scary, a storyline is key, and The Haunting of Hill House is the best of both worlds. Also, a second viewing is needed, as your first time through you will be sucked into the storyline...while the second time you will realize there are ghosts in nearly every scene of the series, whether out of focus or a random hand at a table with no owner. Hundred of ghosts are hidden throughout. You'll also find out why "And the rest is confetti...." is the way to live your life.
