Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks: 10/27/2021

This Thursday, October 28, at 6:00 p.m. will be our second Holocaust Project program. Team leaders will meet at 5:00 p.m. for committee reports and planning then the program will open to the public at 6:00 p.m. Due to some scheduling changes we will be discussing everyone’s books for the last two months. Our speakers are coming in November and dates will be announced in later columns.

Our little Reader’s Theater group will be giving its performance at 3:45 p.m. on November 4th at the Library. These 2nd and 3rd graders have worked hard to learn their lines and cannot wait to share their stories with you. Parents, family, and friends are invited to watch the show as well as anyone else who would like to come and enjoy the performance.

We will be having a special musical story time on Friday, October 29th at 9:30 a.m. Karen Burtch will be coming to sing with our preschoolers and then with Kristi’s Kiddie Korner at 10:30 a.m. This is a great time of singing, playing instruments, and just making a joyful noise.

Registration is still open for the November session of Spotting Fake News. The three classes will meet on Tuesday afternoons beginning November 2nd at 1:30 p.m. Patrons may bring their own laptops or use one of the Library’s.

The Library will be closed on November 11th for Veterans Day and then on November 25th and 26th for Thanksgiving. We will be open regular hours during the rest of the month.

Question of the week: Where do we get the displays for the front case by the checkout desk? Sometimes the displays are complementary to a special program we are having or a collection from one of our patrons they would like to share. Sometimes the displays are something the Friends are working on, such as the logo gear which are in the case now. Sometimes they help celebrate holidays, such as Christmas when Robin lets us display her beautiful Christmas village. One of our most popular displays was the crystal collection during the summer reading program.

If you have a collection or something fun you would like to display, please let us know. We love to change the case every month and everyone always enjoys the new items. Collections may be of anything you would like to share; historical, educational, or just for fun. Contact us at 287-3763 for more information.
