Just a reminder that school will be out Thursday and Friday of this week, so there will be lots of little ones on their way to the library. Please watch out for those crossing both streets by the library as our bike riders are not always aware of how fast cars are traveling!
There will be no Art Camp on this Wednesday, and no Reader's Theater or STEM Camp on Thursday due to school being out. All programs will resume next week at their usual times.
We will be having a special musical story time on Friday, October 29th at 9:30 a.m. Karen Burtch will be coming to sing with our preschoolers and then with Kristi's Kiddie Korner at 10:30 a.m. This is a great time of singing, playing instruments, and just making a joyful noise.
Next week will be a time for studying the past, as Monday, October 25, at 6:30 p.m. is our History Book Club. This month we have been reading about events, sites, and famous things throughout history. Anyone is welcome to come and join the group at anytime so feel free to explore the different aspects of our past with us.
Thursday, October 28, at 5:00 p.m. will be the second meeting for the Holocaust Project Committee chairs. We will be lining out final dates for events and checking the progress of different projects. Then at 6:00 p.m. we will have a special guest speaker on his family and their Holocaust experiences. The evening program is open to everyone at no charge.
Our Reader's Theater group will be presenting three stories on Thursday, November 4, at 3:45 p.m. at the Library. These 2nd and 3rd graders have been working hard to learn their lines and finish their masks, so come and see their performances.
We will be beginning another Spotting Fake News class on Tuesday, November 2 at 1:30 p.m. This class teaches lateral reading, authenticating websites, spotting native sponsorship and more. If you want to sign up for this three-week session, please call us at 287-3763.
I am so excited about the last Friends meeting. They are adding members all the time, and have great future plans to help the Library become even better. If you would like to come and be a Friend of the Library, just watch for their next meeting in November or stop by the front desk to learn more.
