Between the Stacks: 9/8/2021

Do you have a middle schooler who thrives on drama? This is their chance to put it all too good use and come join the Library staff in creating our first melodrama! The cast will be writing the script, casting the actors, deciding on backdrops and props, and of course performing for an audience. If you love over the top acting or are an adult who wants to join the fun, be at the Library on September 13 at 3:45 p.m.

I have been talking about our Entrepreneur Resource Center for several months now and we are ready to start sharing our knowledge. The first program will be on September 14th at 1:00 p.m. Feel free to bring your lunch and learn about the resources, guest speakers coming up, network with other business owners, and explore what it might take to start your own enterprise.

For those of you who are tired of trying to figure out what web sites are real and which ones are fake, the Library will be offer there weeks of training on how to spot fake web sites, how to authenticate their information, using lateral reading to discover who is supporting them, discovering the signs of native sponsorship, and more. If you would like to be a part of this class, please call the Library to sign up. The first class will begin on September 15th at 6:00 p.m. Feel free to bring your own device or use one of the Library’s computers.

Sweet Tea Tales makes its return on Thursday, September 16th at 1:30 p.m. with the theme “Picnics & Pioneers”. Chefs and bakers of all ages are invited to bring your favorite picnic foods based on a pioneer theme for all to taste! The public is invited to come and taste all the goodies, then vote on which one is the favorite. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

The Holocaust project has two spaces left for teens due to a cancellation. If you would like to be part of this project, please contact the Library at 287-3763. This teen led program is sponsored by Humanities Montana through their Project Democracy program. It will be year of guest speakers, field trips, programming, and research for those involved.

The Adult Watercolor class goes back to school this month as Sara will once again begin teaching lessons. This program is a chance for adults to learn the basics of watercolor painting while meeting new friends. Classes are every Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m.
