Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Fall is in the air! The nights are cooler, the mornings call for a light sweater, and pumpkin spice EVERYTHING is as far as the eye can see. This also means my craziest, funnest, most loved time of the year is about to begin - haunted house building!
My bestie and I found a great Tik Tok video on how to make Halloween shirts with wood cutouts and bleach. We decided this would be a perfect way to kick off the build; we'd make ourselves and our helpers some "uniforms" for fun!
On Saturday morning we took off to Bozeman, armed with a list a mile long of all the art supplies we needed. Our main target: Hobby Lobby.
First, let me state that Hobby Lobby is one of my all-time favorite stores. Most of my office decor was purchased at Hobby Lobby, most of my house decor was purchased at Hobby Lobby; heck, 99.9% of all gifts I give come from Hobby Lobby!
Second, I don't think I will be able to shop at Hobby Lobby for a long time after Saturday. I must get over my anger.
We scoured the aisles for Halloween decorations. Every corner of Hobby Lobby was searched. Finally I ventured up to the checkout line, knowing full well what they were going to tell me, but hoping for the best.
"Did you guys skip over a holiday?" I asked.
The lady grimaced and apologized, saying she didn't agree with the policy, but Hobby Lobby does not celebrate Halloween.
But what about the rest of us who do? We need Hobby Lobby's take on Halloween!
Disgruntled, we made our way to Joann Fabrics and Michaels, where we found what we needed. But I was still mad. I still am.
Halloween is not a satanic holiday. Yes, some take it to extremes, involving religion. But Halloween is a holiday just like any other - not everyone celebrates Easter, yet Hobby Lobby has Easter decor. Not all celebrate Christmas, but Hobby Lobby has it. Where is Halloween, Hobby Lobby!?!?!
