Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Donnie Grant Welborn, of Lima, MT, was born February 24, 1966. He was taken from us suddenly in the early morning of August 11, 2021 after he had an accident at the ranch where he had recently been employed.
We can try to find solace in the fact that he was sent to the Lord doing what he was put on this earth to do. He would tell anyone his calling was running heavy equipment better than anyone this side of the Mississippi.
He is survived by his parents Pat Welborn, and Don Welborn Sr., his sister Cindy Ashcraft, her husband David as well as her three kids Jonathan, Katie, and Kristen; all of their spouses and children, his two children, Cynthia Welborn, as well as Wesley Welborn, and his first grandson Hal Welborn. He is pre-deceased by his grandparents Vera and Gaylord Atkins, as well as Bill and Captola Welborn.
The most remarkable thing about Donnie is that often being an underdog himself he still at his own expense helped others who were less fortunate. A give-the-shirt-off-your-back type of man. He would often take the less fortunate under his wing. Always there to be lending a helping hand, and when asked if he needed a hand himself, he would tell you that "three were far better than just one". He had a way with animals that rivaled any tried and true cowboy, easily making any one of them beam with that classic Montana pride. All we as his family can say is that he will be truly and dearly missed by not only his many loved ones but all of the people whose lives he touched in his short but extraordinary life here on this earth. May his soul rest in peace with our Lord and Savior, amen. We love you Donnie.
There will be a private burial for the family at the Lima, MT cemetery at 10:30 on August 19, 2021. Services will be held by Pastor Dwane at The Valley Assembly in Sheridan, MT at 2:00pm on the 19th.
