Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
On August 6th, 2021, this world lost an irreplaceable father, son, brother, and husband. Curtis Grant Preece, 42 of Columbus MT, passed away suddenly while out doing what he enjoyed.
Curtis was the type of person that when you met him you never forgot him. He had a heart of gold and lived for adventure, from floating with his friends and family to pushing the limits with his buddies on his bike or sled. If it was outdoors, he was in his element. He thrived to give his family the best, especially his daughter. He wanted her to get the most out of life and to create the best memories possible for her.
Curtis was born in Butte MT on May 17th, 1979. He graduated from Whitehall High school in 1998.
Curtis was married to Christy Cameron on March 23, 2012. A nine-year marriage produced a beautiful daughter, Maddison 8, who was the light of his life.
Curtis is survived by his wife Christy, daughter Maddison, mother Sara, stepsons Joaquin and DJ Pilcher, grandson Kaydin Pilcher, brother and sister-in-law Todd and Melany Preece, his nephews Ricky and Vann Preece, aunt and uncle Barb and Bob Bowman, aunt Margaret Chambers, cousins Mike Bowman and family, Kassie Lusty and family, Katrina White and family, Crystal DeFord and family, and Tracy Jordan and family, along with numerous cousins.
Curtis is preceded in death by his father Ricky Ray Preece, his grandfather Kalman (Bud) Chambers, grandmother Geraldine W Chambers, grandmother Dorothy Jonsrud, grandfather Robert Grant Preece, and uncle Gregory Preece.
A celebration of life will be held August 21, 2021, at 4 PM at the Robert Bowman residence, 52 Kaddy Lane Whitehall, MT 59759.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Curtis's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
