Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Since its debut episode in December 2017, THE CHOSEN has become the most successful crowd-funded TV series in history. According to THE CHOSEN app, which is available on the App Store, the show has over 200,000,000 views worldwide.
Several Whitehall residents, "THE CHOSEN Fans", are bringing the series to the Whitehall Star Theatre in August, beginning August 3rd at 7 p.m. Each evening showing will feature two episodes of the series, which are about 45 minutes a piece. Admission is free.
"This series shows the story through the eyes of the disciples," said Brenda Volz, one of THE CHOSEN Fan organizers. "It sheds light on their back stories."
A charismatic fisherman drowning in debt. A troubled woman wrestling with real demons. A gifted publican ostracized by his family and his people. A Religious leader struggling with his beliefs. In this ground-breaking first season of THE CHOSEN, see how Jesus reaches each of these and more as He works His first miracles and embarks on His ministry to change the world. See Him through the eyes of those who met HIM.
THE CHOSEN has been raved about by tens of millions around the world and has a nearly perfect IMDB score. It's binge-worthy, it's funny, and it's authentic.
"What's happening is so clearly bigger than anything that I'm capable of that it's easy to kind of maintain this posture of 'Wow, this is really cool what God's doing,' THE CHOSEN director Dallas Jenkins said in a recent national interview with MovieGuide. "I'm fortunate to be a part of it."
He added, "I have to tell you, when they were doing a review of the first four episodes, long before the show was cool, MovieGuide said there's little doubt that this will end up being one of the most well-known and influential pieces of Christian media. And I remember using that quote going like, 'Well, they believe in something here.' I think someone at MovieGuide saw this coming. I didn't. But it's been fun to be part of."
Jenkins said that the show's ability to relate to a broad audience of various ages, backgrounds, and even religions has helped the show succeed.
"I'm seeing 6-year-olds who love every episode. It doesn't make any sense to me, because the show is confusing for some people who are adults," Jenkins said. "But I think God's got something to say. And we're just trying to make sure that we shepherd it properly."
The first two episodes of THE CHOSEN will be shown at the Star Theatre at 7 PM on August 3rd, with two episodes being shown each Tuesday evening until the complete first season has been viewed.
The second season of THE CHOSEN was recently released with over 50 language translations and is available on https://watch.angelstudios.com.
