BTBJ Brings in $39k for Grants, JVCF & Chamber

The 17th Annual Black Tie, Blue Jeans Fundraiser brought an impressively dressed crowd to the Copper K Barn on Saturday night.

According to the Whitehall Chamber, a total of about $39,000 gross was raised at the event. The live auction was the highest grossing since 2014, with a handmade American flag mailbox, created by Cody Doyle of Cope & Hody Autoworks, going for $2200.

As in previous years, Black Tie & Blue Jeans will grant money to several local non-profits and the remaining proceeds will be divided between the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce and the Jefferson Valley Community Foundation on an 85%/15% basis with the JVCF providing the fiscal sponsorship with their 501(c)3 status.  Both organizations use their funds to improve our community.

The Chamber of Commerce uses its portion of the funds to support local non-profit groups and to fund local events such as Frontier Days, Shakespeare in the Park, Fall Festival, Summer Reading Program, and the Christmas Stroll, plus many other activities, all of which invigorate the economy of our community.

The Jefferson Valley Community Foundation proceeds will be added to its Endowment Fund and to its administrative fund to support the current and future needs of the community. Proceeds from the JVCF Endowment Fund have resulted in over $191,000 in grants returning to 55 non-profits volunteer organizations that support this community in the 20 years JVCF has existed.

Over 125 people attended the evening, with live music provided by Homemade Jam & Friends. The 18th annual event will be held May 14, 2022.
