Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
The Montana Department of Revenue reminds taxpayers that payment options are available for people unable to pay their 2020 Montana income taxes in full.
Montana taxpayers can request a payment plan using the department’s TransAction Portal (TAP) at tap.dor.mt.gov or by calling the department’s Collections Bureau at (406) 444-6964 once their return has been filed and processed.
“We understand that 2020 was a tough year for a lot of Montanans, and some of us may be facing a larger tax bill than we expected,” said Brendan Beatty, director of the Montana Department of Revenue. “But we’re always willing to help Montanans find a payment plan that works.”
Montana and federal individual income tax returns are due May 17. Taxpayers may receive an automatic extension of time for filing their Montana returns without notifying the department, but payments of 2020 income taxes are still due May 17.
