Dear Editor: Vaccines

Dear Editor,

I’m not pro-vaccine, but neither will I condemn those who are. I may sadly shake my head and walk away, but I will not condemn their choice. I will not be taking the vaccine (not willingly, anyway), for somewhat the same reason as others who will not take it. "It’s too new!" That’s true enough, though apparently it has been tested to whatever extent. This, however, is not the main reason; the main reason I’m not going take it is because, admittedly, I’m a bit of a conspiracy theorist! No, I don’t wear a tin foil hat, though, sometimes I wonder to what extent "Big Brother" IS listening. As such, if monies are being offered to those who will take the vaccine, and there ARE nano-chips (or "particles") floating around in said vaccine, then who is to say that there isn’t something sinister going on behind the scenes?

Soon after this so-called pandemic started, I remarked to several friends that if one wasn’t a conspiracy theorist before all this began, something was definitely wrong if one wasn’t a little bit of one by now. Conspiracy theories aside though, some of things that have transpired during this whole debacle should be enough to make one go, hmmmmmmmm.

I say, "the main reason," but that’s not quite true. Our bodies are naturally furnished with what’s called an ‘immune system’. Now, I realize that, for a multitude of reasons (none of them good), the majority of Americans have a compromised immune system, again, to whatever extent. The main reason for this is our unhealthy eating habits. For example, it’s easier (usually less expensive too) to simply stop by a fast food joint and pick up a quick lunch, than to actually take the time to prepare something healthy. No condemnation here either, but really?! What will it take for us to realize that we are almost literally being force-fed this crap so that we need these vaccines to boost our failing immune systems?! I realize that vaccines have appeared almost miraculous in the past, wiping out Polio and such, but where’s the evidence that they will ‘save’ us now? If our little corner of the world is any indication, the "danger" seems to be all but past. When did the vaccine show up? Sure, it’s too late for some, and we mourn their passing, but are those left behind in any real danger, at least any more danger than flu seasons in the past? So yes, we’re back to the ‘immune system system’ thing again; yes, some people’s are SO compromised that they really DO need a boost, and if they believe this will help them, more power to them. For my part, though, I prefer to do what I can to keep a healthy immune system!

Some might call me an "anti-vaxxer;" that’s fine: sticks & stones... Whether or not there’s something to all the "theories" going around concerning the vaccine, not to mention the "pandemic" itself, one must judge for him or herself. There is "evidence" to support both sides. Realizing that this is just an opinion piece, I look forward to hearing the opinions of others on this matter.
