Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
John Raisor was born January 3, 1956, and, after a short illness, tragically died April 23, 2021 at 5:20 PM.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvila and Ralph Raisor; sister, Ruth Raisor; and brother, Richard Raisor.
He is survived by his wife, Margy Raisor; siblings, Sunny Raisor, Violet and Charles Blaine, Ed and Annie Raisor, Lori Raisor, Pat Raisor, and Joe and Theresa Raisor; children, Kim Kelley, Mike and Kristen Kelley, Rick and Mikel Kelley, Shannon and Tera Kelley and Dustin Raisor; grandchildren, Leeanne Kish, Mike Kish, Jonathon Kish, Hallee Kelley, Lilly Esteppe, Alex Draper, Coya Kelley, Irelynn Kelley, Anthony Kelley, Darius Kelley, Athena Kelley, Joey Feltus and Jesse Feltus; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends numbering in the hundreds, living across the states in Texas, Montana, Washington, Idaho, Colorado and Oregon.
In his life he was a veteran, a cowboy, a biker, a truck driver, and rail worker and, finally, retired from the oil fields in North Dakota. In his younger years, he made Oregon and Washington his stomping grounds before following his family and settling in Whitehall, Montana for the next 30 years.
In his lifetime John raised or had a hand in raising any young person who came into his life who needed a safe place to land. He was always there with advice, a shoulder to cry on; as a dancing partner or a drinking buddy. He knew no stranger and was more than willing to talk the ear off anyone he met. This world is a smaller place without him in it.
John asked that we celebrate his life not with a traditional funeral but rather a party with good food, cold drinks, stories and laughter. The gathering will be held in Whitehall at the Legion Park at 200 Legion Avenue West at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 5th. EVERYONE who knew him or even of him and wishes to join in the celebration is welcome. There will be a motorcycle escort of his ashes as per his request from the funeral home to Whitehall beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Axelson Funeral Home on Harrison Avenue in Butte for anyone who wants to join. Thank you all for your support during this time.
