Whitehall Wrestling Holds Awards Dinner

The Whitehall Wrestling team recently held their end of the year awards dinner. This year the dinner included families and we were thankful to have it at the Fire Hall. Varsity letters were awarded to those that had made significant contributions to the varsity program.

Letters were given to managers, Anna Nelson and Addison Sullivan. The girls wrestling team awarded letters to Alley Antonsen and Kenzy Best. Those to earn letters on the boys team were: Wesley Biggers, Isaac Skogen, Dane Hoover, Michael Reiff, Gavin Watson, Karsen Klapan, Leo Scafani, Miles Hoerauf, Nick Denny, Kyle Denny, Justin Kuehl, Dallon Lanes, Dallen Hoover, Trentin Walker, Dawson Powers and Jamus DuBois.

Special awards were given to the captains, who lead the team to an outstanding 24-1 dual season. Captains this year were seniors Dawson Powers (5th at State), Trentin Walker, Dallen Hoover, and Jamus DuBois. Most improved for the girls team went to Kenzy Best who earned 5th at the Montana State Tournament. Most improved for the boys went to Jamus DuBois. Special award was given to Anna Nelson for an “Above and Beyond” job as manager of the team. Awards were given to the wrestler that earned the most takedowns during the season, Trentin Walker with 46, the most near falls went to Miles Hoerauf with 30, and most pins with 25 went to Dallen Hoover. Most valuable for the boys team went to Dallen Hoover with a 34-1 record and 3rd place at State. Most valuable for the girls went to Alley Antonsen with at 3rd place State medal.

This year gave us some unique challenges. This team accepted the challenges and had a successful season. We appreciate the support of the school administration and the most amazing parents in the state. We are looking forward to next year.
