Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
This past weekend while working on the Whitehall Chamber’s Easter Egg and Scavenger Hunt, I had many people ask how they can get more involved. Such a great question! The need for volunteers gets greater and greater each year with new events added.
The Chamber of Commerce is a huge source of events in the area and always in need to volunteers for events such as the Easter Egg & Scavenger Hunt, Frontier Days, Fall Festival and Christmas Stroll. You don’t have to be a Chamber member, or even a business owner, to volunteer your time or resources to these events. Contact the Chamber at 287-2260 or whitehallmtchamber@gmail.com to get involved.
There are so many great causes and events in this area that many aren’t away of. Sincerely Paul, a local non-profit food pantry, is having another USDA food surplus giveaway on April 12th at the Assembly of God Church at 11am. This organization is done completely via volunteers and could always use an extra hand during food distribution days. Contact Vickie Rabenstein at 406-792-5059 for information.
I, myself, am always looking for volunteers as well, either for writing human interest articles for the Whitehall Ledger, but also for the several events I put on during the year. I’m excited that Beats & Eats, a music event, will take place each month during the summer; I always need assistance with setting up and getting the word out for this series of events.
Also, the Screams Come True Haunted House. I am sure Ledger readers will get eventually get sick of hearing about the Haunted House, because in the fall this project becomes my life for a good two months. Screams Come True has been my “baby” for the last three years and requires a LOT of volunteers. Last year we had over 1500 people come through the house over the course of two weekends; that took over 60 volunteers giving countless hours to the cause. If you’re interested in helping in any way (scaring, building, creating costumes) PLEASE contact me!
I would like to put together a volunteer opportunity flier that could be distributed at the Chamber, the Ledger, and anywhere else - where if you want to lend a hand, you have an assortment of possibilities right at your fingertips. Please contact the Ledger at 287-5301 or whledger@gmail.com to get your volunteer opportunity listed!
Volunteers make the world go ‘round - please volunteer!
