Name to a Face: Lexi Bowman - Little Warrior

Lexi Bowman was born in Bozeman, Montana, in 1999. She was raised in Whitehall with her two siblings. When she was born, Lexi suffered from a lack of oxygen, resulting in her having Cerebral Palsy (CP). She has struggled with Cerebral Palsy and fights hard daily to overcome all the limitations CP entails in order to further herself. Cerebral Palsy is a cognitive disorder which can affect movement, speech, learning, and more.

Lexi worked hard through elementary school with the help of others in the special education program; though she didn't always enjoy having others help. In high school she excelled with the help of Mrs. Corrie Bateman. She's always felt Mrs. Bateman's help was more like comfort, and with that comfort Lexi was able to advance easier than before.

After graduating from WHS, Lexi volunteered at the Whitehall school cafeteria, where she found she truly enjoyed the company of the people she worked with. However, when COVID-19 hit in 2020, she was forced to find a new job; Lexi now works at Settings By All Things Montana.

At 21, Lexi has learned many life lessons from having CP. She has learned not to grow up too fast and be grateful for what one has. She enjoys living in the moment; she loves and appreciates her family members. Lexi has her mother, father, and sister who take care of her, but most people don't know Lexi also has a twin brother. She cherishes her family so much its hard for her to put into words at times.

Lexi is often shy about herself and has struggled with her image; however, she is learning to love herself. She has imagined herself being different then what she is now, but says she is more than grateful for the life the Lord has given her.

Lexi enjoys that Whitehall is very quiet. The one thing she would like to change is the ability to go see movies at the local movie theatre again.

Lexi dreams of helping people and going far in life. She wants to be able to take care of her parents as they have taken care of her. She enjoys working with animals and children. She has an acute eye for fashion, often enjoying all the different styles, making her look fantastic. Lexi always looks lovely as she takes special care with each outfit she chooses.

Lexi is a private person and very sweet; though she's shy at first, Lexi is a very kind person to get to know.

Lexi would love to remind us all, "You never know what someone has gone through or is going through, so be kind."
