Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Automated External Defibrillators (AED) Ready For Use

Seven Automated External Defibrillators (AED) have been granted to area businesses and individuals as part of a statewide effort to increase heart health in Montana. The Jefferson Valley Rural Ambulance District provided oversight to the grant process of redistributing the AED units that were previously owned by the Jefferson County Sheriff's department.

Recipients of the AEDs are the Little Guy Wrestling/Headstart Building, Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department, two USFS local fire engine crews, Denise Bausch in the Waterloo area, Bull Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, and the Boulder swimming pool.

These AEDs bring the total number of AEDs in the Jefferson Valley up to around 20. If you don't know where the closest AED is to where you live and work, find out. After you push the big "on" button, these little machines will speak to you and tell you what to do to save the life of an adult or child experiencing cardiac arrest.

First Aid/CPR/AED training for the community has been interrupted due to COVID, but as restrictions ease, training sessions will resume.
