Mary Lou Klemo, 93

Mary Lou Klemo, 93, of Butte, Montana, passed away at her home on February 18, 2025, surrounded by family.

Mary Lou McCarthy was born in Butte on April 20, 1931, and she remained "Butte Tough" until her final moments.

Mary Lou married Jack Klemo of Butte on November 7, 1954, at St Patrick's Catholic Church, and they had six children. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother and eventually worked at a local department store in Whitehall, Montana, where she and Jack raised their family.

She loved to read and do crossword puzzles, but the highlight of her week the last few years was each Friday when great-granddaughter Ridley visited "Bah Wou," bringing light and sunshine to her life.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and son, Kurt Klemo. She is survived by children Kim & Shane Merritt, Kris & Tom Burckhard, Kliff & Stacie Klemo, Kari Klemo & Travis Remely, Kit & Barry Griffin, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
