Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Jefferson County Health Department is following the state of Montana COVID-19 Vaccination Distribution Plan. The State is providing vaccines according to their phased plan. We are actively moving from Phase 1A into Phase 1B.
Currently, clinics are being held at the Public Health Department in Boulder. Due to uncertainty around vaccine quantity, we have not yet set dates for off-site clinics. Vaccines are offered at no cost to residents.
St. Peter’s Health is offering COVID-19 vaccines to patients who are actively receiving primary care services at St. Peter’s and who meet eligibility requirements.
At this time, we do not know when Phase 1C and Phase 2 will start. We will inform our community as soon as we know.
Getting vaccinated will help keep you, your family and our community healthy and safe. Jefferson County Public Health is grateful for your patience as we work together with our medical partners to provide vaccination to all those who want to receive it.
The staff at Jefferson County Health Department would like to thank the members of our community for their interest in receiving the COVID-19 vaccination. We appreciate your patience as we work to ensure our vaccination rollout is safe and equitable.
Vaccine supply is very limited and is being allocated by the state in phases. MT DPHHS distributes state allocations of COVID-19 vaccine to enrolled COVID-19 vaccinators. Vaccine distribution varies on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, it is not possible to estimate the wait time for receiving the vaccine.
MT DPHHS developed a population-based formula for each county in order to distribute vaccine equitably. According to the state’s data, Jefferson County has 12,221 residents. Of those residents, 4,162 qualify as Phase 1B recipients. There are 1,627 residents age 70 or older. Jefferson County is currently scheduling residents 80 years and older.
Jefferson County has received 200 first doses and 100 second doses of Moderna. In the past three weeks we have administered 172 first doses. COVID-19 vaccine needs to be administered in two doses. Moderna vaccines must be spaced 28 days apart for optimal effectiveness. First and second doses will be scheduled accordingly. Next week our nurses will begin administering second doses.
To be placed on the Jefferson County waiting list, please call 406-225-4004 and leave a message containing your name, age, place of residence and phone number. You will receive a return telephone call to schedule your appointment when we have a dose for you.
