The newest addition to Jefferson Island (Cardwell) is Callan Dean Patrick! (See the photo) Shawn and Avery Patrick are the parents of this little fellow and Shawn said "We are quite smitten with this little one." Love is an amazing thing - it just grows and grows when a child is born from the love between to parents. Even though Callan was three weeks early, he will thrive. Callan is the first grandchild for Avery's parents, Mike Gold and Katie Boedecker who live in the White Sulphur Springs area. He's number 6 for Carol and Glenn Patrick who just live over the hill on the ranch. Shawn is a pharmacist and Avery is employed by Show Down Ski resort.

Nineteen fifty-nine was a good year! Julian and Sue Norville were married that year on November 27th, the day following Thanksgiving. That was 61 years ago! Congratulations!

Thanksgiving took on a different look. Limited get-together's and cancellation of many activities brought out the ingenuity. At the Ed Simon's family gathering - limited, but fun - Jackie organized a Turkey Trot to start the day. (Some of her races were cancelled, so she came up this clever idea.) Some of the participants went a mile and others ran a few. Worked up a good appetite. It was so much fun, it was decided that it will part of the Thanksgiving tradition. On Friday, Coeur d"Alene was their destination. It was to take a Cruise on Coeur d"Alene Lake. These boats remind one of a Mississippi River Boat. Whether the Boat was 'Polar' or the cruise was 'Polar' wasn't quite sure, it was just a great experience. Do you suppose that the kids thought the swimming pool at the motel was the best part of the trip?

Time to start the Christmas baking and candy making - what wonderful odors come from the kitchen. So, put on some Christmas music and get in the mood for the Advent Season. In Luke 2:32 we are reminded that Jesus was born to be a "light to the Gentiles and the glory of Your people Israel."
