Ridgeline Sports Opens in Whitehall

Morgan and Lucy Shaw have a huge passion for the outdoors.  They recently decided to share their love for the outdoors in the Treasure State in the form of a new area business. Earlier this year, the two decided to open up Ridgeline Sports as an ATV rental business and recently expanded to a retail location at 401 E. Legion Avenue that offers guns, ammo, reloading supplies, gun cases, gun straps, optics, clothing as well as camping supplies. Morgan Shaw grew up in Cardwell, graduated from Whitehall High School, and is also an airline pilot.  Lucy is from western Montana and they moved to the area following their marriage last winter. The two had been thinking of possibly opening a business and according to Lucy, the idea really blossomed over the summer when Morgan had more time off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting with just the drop off rentals, Lucy said things went really well in the summer months and this gave people something they could go and do outdoors when many had limited options. She is also eager for the retail opportunity for both hunters and those who just want to get outside. "We want to provide people with whatever they need to get out and enjoy what Montana has to offer.  We want to be able to provide things they can get locally without having to go into Butte or Bozeman to get it," she said. With a prime spot on the main street in town, Lucy feels this will give them a lot of publicity and will let people know they are here.
