Frontier Days are bucking forward

The Whitehall Chamber is pleased and excited that Frontier Days plan of action and safety has been approved and the community wide event will indeed occur July 24 and 25. For obvious reasons, the event will look somewhat different this year but many of the all time favorites such as the rodeo, parade, barbeque, Fireman breakfast, hotshot tournament, and museum historical tours will again be featured.

In preparation for the event, there are a few thoughts to keep in mind: there are a limited number of rodeo tickets available this year so those people wishing to attend the rodeo should purchase their tickets early. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office whose hours are: Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. The rodeo will again be a Rancher's Roundup. Again early ticket purchases are essential.

Also, the Chamber is still taking parade applications and those can be mailed to the Chamber office or dropped off.

Finally, the Chamber is really still soliciting help in terms of community volunteers to help assure a successful event. Because of Covid-19 concerns this particular Frontier Days is really unique in relation to its labor intensive needs to keep everything sanitized, distanced and safe. In plain terms, community help in terms of volunteers is really needed. Please help.

Finally, the Chamber wishes to assure all Whitehall residents that the safety of all who attend is of prime importance to the group. A long, very thorough, and very intensive health plan was submitted to the Jefferson County Health Department. This advisory group approved the current plan under which the event is operating. Those who are planning to attend should remember to follow all aspects of virus limiting activities. Social distancing is absolutely crucial as is wearing a mask as well as using hand sanitizers whenever possible and in regular circumstances. Volunteering and safe health practices can exemplify Whitehall as a beacon of how to do things correctly and control or even limit the virus and have fun. We do live in a special small town!!
