Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
The Jefferson Valley Museum will begin its 25th year with the annual meeting on Thursday, April 2nd at the Star Theatre in Whitehall. Extra health precautions are planned to help protect those who attend. Proceedings begin at 6:45 PM with a short meeting followed by a history program. This year the focus will be on the history of the museum barn, which is at least 106 years old, and the years of volunteer work that transformed the dilapidated building into the museum you see today.
The program is open to the public and there is no cost to attend. Museum volunteers will provide coffee and other items can be purchased at the theatre concession stand. The many photos used to show the history of the barn will be displayed on the large movie screen for great viewing by those attending. A short history of the theatre will be given at the start of program.
The museum's 25th season will start on Saturday, May 23rd with the doors open from noon to 4:00 PM Tuesday through Sunday each week through September 15th. Admission to the museum is free and donations are always welcome. A special fundraiser is being planned for Saturday, May 30th with antique appraisals. Details will be published by mid-May. The museum will again provide historic tours during Frontier Days focusing on Whitehall history and people.
