Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
The Whitehall High School volleyball team will get a chance to shine in front of a homecoming crowd at Thursday's 5B conference game against Sweet Grass County.
"The team and I are really excited for homecoming because it's always so much fun to see all of the school spirit and support for our Trojans," said head coach Kyla Simon.
In the first match between the two teams, the Lady Trojans picked up their first conference win with a road victory in Big Timber.
The team will travel Saturday to take on Three Forks.
"We are looking forward to some great games this week and some awesome opportunities for growth as a team," Simon said.
In action last week, Whitehall dropped two tightly contested three set matches to Anaconda at home and Jefferson on the road.
"Like I have said before, it is really good for us to play against good teams and to have close games. Right now I'm more concerned with how we are progressing and improving as a team than I am with how many games we are winning. I want us to continuously improve together throughout the season so that we peak at tournament time," Simon said. "I'm so proud of all of the young women on the team right now. They are completely committed to the idea of us being a team first and foremost. They work hard at practice every day to be more disciplined fundamentally, and also to make sure we are in good physical shape so we can push through in these close games."
