'The Arcadian Wild' show October 5 at Star Theater

"The Arcadian Wild" is heading to Whitehall.

The popular alternative folk band is scheduled to play Saturday, October 5 at the Star Theater. The concert presented by the Cardwell Church is free of charge and scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Star Theater Manager Colton Anderson said he was approached by David Parker about bringing the band to town with the backing of the church.

Anderson said he has always loved the versatility of the theater and having the ability to bring in different types of entertainment.

"The band is fantastic, I think it will be a great event and hopefully one the town can come and enjoy," he said.

ARCADIAN WILD

The Arcadian Wild began in the fall of 2013 when a few choir students from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN met up after class to jam for the afternoon. Five years later, the band now consists of guitarist Isaac Horn, mandolinist Lincoln Mick, and fiddler Paige Park. Currently, the folk group is touring off the anticipation and successful release of their sophomore record, "Finch in the Pantry" (May 2019, Antifragile Music), which debuted at #9 on the Billboard bluegrass charts. With roots running deep in formal vocal music, and influenced by progressive bluegrass and folk artists, The Arcadian Wild explores a unique acoustic sound that is simultaneously unified and diverse, offering up songs of invitation; calls to come and see, to find refuge and rest, or to journey and wonder.
