Lova Rae Loomis, 74, of Whitehall, Montana passed away, Saturday, August 3, 2019 after battling an aggressive diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer. Lova was born on March 31, 1945, in Dillon, Montana to John Dee and Rachel (Lott) Cherry. She graduated from Lima High School in 1963, and graduated from Western Montana College in 1967. On July 6, 1968 she married James Larry Loomis in Lima, Montana. Lova was a dedicated, inspirational educator who touched many lives in the Whitehall School System. She treasured and loved spending time with her family. Her eight grandkids are her legacy of love. She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, camping, remodeling and was very talented and creative with all her projects. She especially loved feeding and watching birds in her yard, as she created the most unique and beautiful birdhouses for everyone to enjoy. Lova is survived by; sons James Loomis (Donna)of Whitehall, John Loomis (Kris) of Livingston, daughters Shauna Loomis of Anaconda, Trenna Ferris (Rich) of Thompson Falls and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Larry Loomis, parents John Dee and Rachel Cherry, sisters; Roberta Bair, Wanlyn Aitken and brothers Dee and Neal Cherry. She will always have a special place in our hearts. Services will be Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS church in Whitehall. A luncheon at the Jim and Lova Loomis residence will follow.
