Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

New Coffee House opens in Whitehall

Bluebird Sky

On a gorgeous Montana morning, family, friends, and local residents came together for an open house and ribbon cutting July 13 for Bluebird Sky Coffee in Whitehall.

The new business is located at 301 W. Legion Ave and features a walk-up window as well and inside and outside seating. The coffee house is owned by Adrienne Arterbury and will be open Monday to Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Bluebird Sky will be serving espresso drinks, hot and cold, bubble tea, sun tea, herbal tea, cold brew coffee, lemonade, chai, matcha, Italian sodas, French press for two and other "goodie" items.

Her vision for the coffee house is to create a space that reflects the true grace and grit nature of living in Montana.

"A rustic elegance if you will. A lovely space that brings friends, families, and strangers together to share their story over a great cup of coffee," she said.

Arterbury has lived in Whitehall the past 25 years and raised four children.

"There is nothing more beautiful than a Montana summer, bluebird sky day," she said.

Arterbury added her son Sebastian is her partner in the coffee house and will be helping her including doing in town deliveries during the summer between 2 and 3 p.m.

She also lauded family and friends for their help with the business.

"My parents, sister and children have all been instrumental in making the dream of Bluebird Sky Coffee a reality. I have some wonderful friends that were amazing at helping me pull the coffeehouse together; plumbing, roofing, ceiling, tiling etc. I couldn't have done it without Karl Kimberling and Robert Payne," Arterbury said.

Along with the coffee and related items, the shop will also feature local artist and artisan's gift for sale.

"Vases of fresh cut flowers from my flower garden will be available by the end of July. The recent, raging storm took a toll on the garden but like many other things, gardening in Montana is not for the faint of heart. They will overcome and survive," she said.

Arterbury also plans to utilize the Treasure State for her products.

"I am passionate about supporting Montana businesses; agriculture, dairy, coffee roasters, apiaries and artisans. I chose Ghost Town Coffee Roasters out of Bozeman for my delicious coffee. Kalispell Creamery for all of my dairy products, Tipus chai out of Polson and Blue Jangles organic honey from Helena," she said. "I will soon be offering Montana made Kombucha as well. Often, local products can be a bit more expensive but supporting other Montanans is something I value greatly and is an important part of my business model."

For more information about coffee delivery please call or text 406-498-1783. A Bluebird Sky Coffee Card can also be loaded with a desired dollar amount.

"It will be convenient and make a nice gift for friends, kids, and employees," she said. "I'm looking forward to being a part of our local economy in Whitehall."
