Keener awarded Sportsmen Scholarship

Not only was Sawyer Keener able to represent his school at the recent Class B All-Star Football game in Billings, he also walked away with a scholarship.

The 2019 Whitehall graduate was awarded the Sportsmen Scholarship.

"I was really excited to hear my name called for the scholarship. Had my fingers crossed that I would win it. It will be a huge help next year for schooling," he said.

While his South team may have fell 41-34, the game had supreme importance for Keener who was missed half the regular season after a severe knee injury.

"I got pretty emotional before the game in the locker room. I missed the game of football so much. Putting those Trojan pants and helmet on again was a special moment. I am very thankful to have been able to represent Trojan football at least one more time," he said.

Kenner was the leading tackler on Trojans squad the past two seasons.
