Between the Stacks

The Library staff would like to give a big thank you all the wonderful people that made last week so much fun. First to Lily, Cooper, and Kari Montgomery for sharing their sheep with us, as well as Zane Downey and his mom Cori who brought Big Head! We also want to thank Kaleena Miller from the MSU Extension Office; Maloi and Meagan Lannon from Varney Creek Livestock, for sharing such a terrific program on soil and animals.

Second, to the Jefferson Valley Search and Rescue who provided such a great program on what children should have with them in case they get lost in the wild. This week, Search and Rescue will do their second program at 6:00 p.m. on "Oops, I'm Lost!". It will instruct both children and parents on what to do if a child becomes lost. Parents will receive forms to have filled out and ready to go if they discover a child missing. This will save valuable time for those looking for the little ones.

Thirdly, we want to thank all of our friends at High Peaks Credit Union for sponsoring a calendar in the big screen at the Star Theater. If you stop in to catch a show, the Library's weekly events will be up and ready to watch!

This week's Wednesday morning program at 10:30 a.m. will be from Tamara Beals from Lewis and Clark Caverns. She will be "Looking Back in Time" and sharing her knowledge of what the earth looked like long ago. Come join the fun and don't forget to sign up for summer reading!

The Whitehall Garden Club will be joining us for another summer of Fairy Garden making at 1:00 p.m. on June 17th in the basement. If you would like to come and make your own fairy garden just give us a call to sign up. We need to know how many adults and children will be attending so there are enough supplies for everyone. This will be a great time of planting, and I heard there may even be a magical person or two visiting.

Also, mark your calendars for Skeeter the Clown from the circus! She will be here on June 20th at 1:00, to tell everyone what life is like as a circus clown. Then she will be returning with the circus on June 29 so everyone can see her act then!
