Whitehall High School junior Britney Welker picked up valuable experience for next season while competing at last week's Class B State Tournament at Montana State University in Bozeman.
Welker went 2-2 at the tournament and according to head coach Kerry Sacry competed very well in what he called a very difficult draw. He added most of the tournament was moved indoors because of weather.
Welker opened the tournament with a 6-4, 6-2, victory over Lindsay Nefzger of Wolf Point. Welker fell in the second round 6-3, 6-3, Emily Clotfelter of Fairfield. Welker rebounded with a 6-3, 6-2, win over Soph...
