Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
This week is the end of the third quarter for the school year. And, on Thursday, the buses will take the students to Great Divide for a day of skiing. What a beautiful day it is suppose to be! Last week, on the 12th, several students participated in the Science Fair competition at Montana Tech. Please note the photo of them on page 9. Levi, Shawn, and Tucker received second places and Kaden, third. Good work boys. The second week of March was the celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday. Each day the kids dressed in special attire. (Wonder what 'green eggs and ham' look like)
My 'pajama' friend, Penny Tash, was a guest of Dr. Gayle and Katherine Sacry on her back to her home in Stettler, Alberta from a two month stay in Arizona with her sister, Sammy and husband, Steve Fetveit. She visited the Museum and treated the volunteers to coffee and cookies. Pretty sweet. While enjoying lunch at Karina's, Steve and Donna Wagner stopped by and after meeting Penny and learning that she was in Arizona, the conversation found them talking about the facility that Jay and Brunet Wagner operate in Wickenburg, Arizona. Since Sammy has horses, that facility was well known to them and then to Penny, too. Small world!
The Whitehall Pinochle Club braved the frigid weather and enjoyed the afternoon without having to get any subs. Marion Poff was hostess for the day. Joyce Held place High; Kathy Clark, Second; Marion, Low; and Erv Hedegaard, Pinochle. Florence Weyer will hostess next.
The Senior Center would like to announce that the Second Tuesday of each month one can play Bingo at the Center. It begins at 1pm and if you need more information call the Center.
This is crazy - 90 degrees different in the temperature. Randy and Bev Kirk were taking some time away and were in Southern Utah. When they called home to check on the ranch activities, they were told that it was a minus 40 degrees!!! They were enjoying a cool 50 degrees. So glad that those 2019 March temperatures are in the past!
Volunteers at the Museum couldn't get into work for a couple of weeks. Thanks to Tim Geary, the parking lot was plowed out (he had a great time doing it) and they were able to get to work. Plans are in the works for preparing an area for one of the fire enginesfrom the city and other items will be added. I'm sure Roy's vision didn't include such an expansion and generous giving of so many people to make the Museum what it is today. Plans were finalized for the Annual Meeting on April 4, 2019 at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. It will be at 7pm and an archaeologist from the dig on the Whitetail will be the speaker. A new Board member will be chosen as well as other terms confirmed. Janice Carmody is stepping off the Board. Janice has served at President for numerous years. Her volunteerism has been a valued contribution and she will continue to volunteer to keep things up and running. The public is invited to this informative evening.
Happy Spring! God's promises fulfilled continue.
