CodeRED test set for March 11

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a test of its CodeRED emergency notification system at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11.

This test will call all telephone numbers in Jefferson County that are registered with the system and play a pre-recorded 60-second message. Message recipient's Caller ID will read "OnSolve" or the numbers

866-419-5000 or 800-566-9780.

The CodeRED system provides the Sherriff's Office with the ability to quickly deliver emergency messages such as wildfire or evacuation notices to targeted areas, or the entire county. If you are not sure if you are registered, sim- ply log onto Jefferson County's website, http://www.jeffersoncounty- mt.gov, and click on the green "Sign up for Emergency Noti- fications" button under Quick Links. The link will take you to the "CodeRED Community Notification Enrollment" page, where you can sign up for the system.

It is recommended that all businesses register, as well as all individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the past year, as well as those who use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number. It is important to note that cell phones, businesses, unlisted numbers, or VoIP numbers MUST be registered to receive emergency notifications. Those without Internet access should get help from a friend or family member who does or call Jefferson County's Office of Disaster and Emergency Services at 406-225-4035.
