The Whitehall High School wrestling team continued their strong start to the season at two events last week.
The Trojans sent five wrestlers to a mixer Thursday at Manhattan and won seven of ten matches. Gage McMillan, Jimmy Best, Jamus Dubois, Riley Forcella and Brody Becker each picked up wins for the trojans. Forcella and Becker each won two matches. Assistant coach Steve Sacry said the match of the night was from Forcella who had a 25-8 technical fall from a Manhattan opponent.
The following night Whitehall won a 62-18 dual against host Anaconda. Sacry said they were also able to get some exhibition matches against Manhattan and Columbus.
Picking up wins for Whitehall were Dawson Powers, Trentin Walker, Mike Wilkinson, Dallen Hoover, Garrison Robertson, Dubois, Gaten Wasberg, Jimmy Best and Cody Best.
The team will next compete January 4 and 5 at the Tom Leprowse Tournament in Bozeman.
"The boys are wrestling with good intensity. We have the busy part of the season after the
New Year. They have a few day off to rest and heal, but are excited to get back at it at the Bozeman Tournament," Sacry said.
